When it comes to the world of public speaking, there are two credentials that really matter; the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the International Speakers Federation, and the Distinguished Toastmaster designation from Toastmasters International. Not only does Jerry Conrad hold both of these distinctions, but in 1995, he became the first person on the planet to do so.
Add to this unusual set of qualifications a client list that includes the FBI, the top law enforcement officers from seven counties and three continents, Domino’s Pizza, Spectrum Health, PaineWebber, and Ford Motor Company and you will begin to have an idea of what type of public speaker Jerry Conrad is.
In addition, Jerry is also the former president of the National Speaker Association of Michigan, and the CEO and founder of SG Maverick, which is located in Muskegon, Michigan. He has made nearly one thousand professional speeches over his life and has studied carefully the methods of hundreds of other professional speakers.
But Jerry Conrad hasn't always been this successful. When he graduated from high school in the sixties, he was in the bottom twenty percent of his class and spent the next few years just barely getting by. But in 1972 after a week in the hospital resulting from his toxic lifestyle, Jerry decided to drastically rethink his attitude toward life. This fundamental change was just what Jerry needed to start himself along the path leading to the success he has accomplished in the last three decades. Jerry credits his US Military service as a non-commissioned officer in charge of a special weapons squad as the catalyst for his enduring self-discipline
Today, Jerry takes joy in imparting his hard won communication expertise to others. He is also a published author, a brown belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, the recipient of three college degrees, and the proud father of two sons.
